Information Collection, Use, and Sharing
We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email, forms hosted by our third party loan origination service, or other direct contact. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.
We will use your information to help you qualify for a loan, or consult with you regarding the lending process. We will share your information only with the parties required to fulfill this objective including lenders and servicers involved in the lending process (e.g. credit companies, title companies, appraisal management companies, loan processors, etc.) In all cases, we provide only that information expressly required to do their job. We limit the parties that we provide particularly sensitive information including your social security number, typically limited to lenders and credit companies only.
We will provide your information to other third parties such as Real Estate Agents as referrals only when you expressly request it. In such cases, we limit the information we share only to that required for them to reach out to you and to understand what you’re looking for.
Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy. We may also share your email with a 3rd party for the sole purpose of obtaining an online review.
Credit Collection Privacy Policies (collected in connection to your application)
In connection with your application for a mortgage loan, you hereby authorize us (Firelight Finance, the Broker or any subsequent Lender/Investor who is processing your application for a mortgage loan) to order a consumer credit report and obtain and verify information regarding your personal and financial background. This credit check will be performed with one or more credit bureaus, and the report we receive may include, but is not limited to, your marital status, number of dependents, social security number verification, current and past employers, current deposit accounts, current and past consumer credit accounts, current and past residences, and your mortgage and/or rental history. There may be a cost associated with the performance of this credit check, and you understand that credit inquiries have the potential to impact your credit score. You further authorize us to verify your past and present employment earnings records, bank accounts, stock holdings, any asset balances and any other information deemed necessary to process your mortgage loan application. The information received will only be used to process your application for a mortgage loan. If any adverse action is taken based on the consumer credit report, you will have an opportunity to receive a copy of the report. This consent will be valid for a period of 180 days from the date hereof.
Your Access to and Control Over Information
You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do so by contacting us via the email address or phone number provided to you during the course of normal business conduct.
Security
We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website or third party processing service, your information is protected both online and offline.
Wherever we collect sensitive information including but not limited to personal identifying information, social security number, credit card and banking information, income and credit information; that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. We are required by law to retain the information associated with your application and loan for three years
While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
